Villa Kabala was founded by Péter Fölföldi and Petra Terjék in 2017. The couple left Budapest and the busy city life behind with the sole intention of creating a restaurant that respects local traditions and provides excellent service at the same time. Petra and Peter were aiming to rewrite the infamous Balaton hospitality story – replacing the money-driven, low quality places with an all-year-round restaurant that not only provides quality but excellent hospitality.
The bistro’s selection is heavily reliant on the produce of local farmers and artisans, as well as the products from Péter’s parents’ farm. The kitchen is ran by András Szabó chef, who is mixing modern fine-dining techniques with the use of local ingredients. The creative menu is changing daily, with a blackboard lunch selection, and multiple course evening meals.
We just did not want to open a hospitality unit for a quick buck, we wanted to host people, and provide the best possible experience. (Péter Fölföldi)
