Stéphanie Berecz encountered a lot of challenges coming from the Loire Valley as a young french winemaker to Tokaj-Hegyalja, in Hungary. Originally, she arrived to Hungary for a 2 months internship with the famous sweet wine estate, Disznókő. She has met her now husband, Zsolt and decided to stay. Her character and exceptional work ethics made her one of the most respected winemakers in Hungary (and beyond).
In 2002 the husband-wife duo debuted with a one-of-kind wine, made from Furmint and Harslevelu (from the Tarcal area, where the soil was regarded poorer and not fit for quality winemaking).
The Tokaj-Kikelet estate (growing to be almost 7 hectares) makes excellent quality dry wines, as well as traditional Tokaji Aszus too.
Stephanie has been awarded the prestigious, peer-reviewed Winemaker of Winemakers Award in 2014.

Our goal is to create both dry and sweet wines that truly represent the heart & soul of Tokaj, showing off the quality of grapes, the soil, and terroir alike. (Stéphanie Berecz)
