The owners of Szőlőskert created the market in the garden of their restaurant after the COVID lockdowns. Most farmers’ markets were not open due to restrictions, and they wanted to create a safe spot for artisans and locals to shop. The market is not for resellers, or shops, it is only for people who make or grow their own products. Within a year, the sellers became friends, the local shopper turned into regulars, and a community started to form. The market has opened its doors to a colourful and amazing array of people, all year around.

Our goal is to close the gap between the farmers and the end consumer, showcase local, quality products and build a true community to show the beauties of Zala. (Janka Gelencsér)
