The Gelencsér family’s restaurant has been around since 1992. They are cooking from quality ingredients and old family recipes. Handmade pastas, hearty Hungarian comfort food, and local ingredients.
The restaurant wants to show the beauty of Zala County’s cuisine, they serve dishes with seasonal ingredients like porcini and other wild mushrooms or wild boar. Their menu features gulyas, lamb roast, mangalica stew and a number of fish dishes. Their goal is to become 100% self-sustaining, they already have a vegetable and herb garden, and the kitchen works with products from local farmers.
Apart from the restaurant, they have 10 rooms for anyone who would like to stay a little longer to enjoy nature and the countryside. Guests and local can enjoy the weekly farmer’s market on Saturdays.
We don’t want to please everyone, all the time. Our goal is to create quality and give something back, to locals, to guests, to the community, whether you are alone or with someone. The guests are coming home to us. (László Gelencsér)
