SZÓLÓ Winery started in 2012 as the love project of a forever dreamer, and a determined realist. Tímea, born and raised at Tállya in a winemaker family, met Tamás, a lawyer from the same region and they have been working together in the winery, as business and life partners. The estate grown from a hectare to 10, and they are firm believers in autochton grape varieties from Tokaj, as well as nature forward agriculture and biodynamic farming, to ensure healthy and happy grapes. Their focus is creating harmony between humans and nature, through quality.
Tímea believes that great natural wines come from top quality grapes, and she is aiming to preserve the characteristics of the grape with minimal to no intervention in the winery, and zero chemicals or additives. Nothing added, nothing taken away. In the cellar, we can find some traditional Hungarian oak barrels, as well as ceramic eggs, and modern tanks. Their modern approach while keeping traditions alive are the cornerstones of SZÓLÓ, which already made them a crowd favourite, abroad and at home alike.

Wine is a channel between nature and humans. The less we disturb it, and the less noisy we are, the clearer we will be able to listen to the wisdom of nature. (Tímea Éless)
