In 2020, Platán Restaurant became Platán Bistro after months of renovation, but the amazing service, and flavours have stayed the same. The restaurant also got upgraded with a small, rural mansion for guests who want to stay over and enjoy the local hospitality a little longer. Located on the shores of Lake Tata, the restaurant mixes the rustic, romantic milieu of countryside restaurants, with a modern kitchen, run by renowned chef, István Pesti. István, after bagging a few Michelin stars and the a number of awards in Budapest, have decided to move to a more guest-facing restaurant, on the countryside.
The award-winning menu is changing weekly, with ingredients sourced from their own herb, and vegetable garden as well as local farms. The restaurant has its own “conditorie” (traditional Austro-Hungarian patisserie) lead by Tamas Laszlo for the lovers of sweets & cakes. Treat yourself with a magical experience at Platán Tata, where nature meets modern gastronomy and excellent hospitality.
