Pálos Resort in Zalacsány-Örvényeshegy is far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Stretching next to a beautiful forest, the 10-hectare family estate is an oasis for those who seeks tranquility. The resort has been built on historic land, in the 11th century the Order of Saint Paul built a monastery here which was functioning up until the end of the 1600.
The accommodation was designed to reflect traditional, countryside traditions, and folk art with a modern twist. Pálos Resort (both in 2018 & 2021) was part of the prestigious 28 Best European Accommodations, and won the International Hospitality Awards in the Best Etno Hotel and the Best Country Hotel category. Everyone can find something relaxing here, from the smallest ones (playground, sandbox, bouncy castle) to the adults (snooker and pool tables, table tennis, wine cellar, palinka tastings). They also organise bike tours and their outside stage regularly hosts events and concerts, like Al di Meola and Mario Biondi.
They have their own fallow deers (currently 23), their area can be explored on a stream bank path. The deer come out of their forest resting place every evening before sunset to enjoy their favorite delicacies. Sun loungers and hammocks between the trees and on the terraces help guests relax comfortably. The evening wine tasting is accompanied by soft music and infinite bird songs at sunset.
In 2013 we moved to Örvényeshegy from Budapest just to try the country life. Well it went very well, because we have never left. We want to show this magic for all the people staying at our little resort. (Tamás and Nikoletta Badacsonyi)
