The Héhl family has roots in the Villányi wine region dating back to the 17th century. Their story is based around wines and winemaking, respecting traditions and their Swabian roots (always mixed with a little mischievous fun!). István and his wife, Tünde, opened the guest house in 2015 to show the true face of the region for everyone who wants to discover it. They not only make wine, but juices, jams, and charcuterie – all of which are part of the big breakfast table that often unites the guests of all 12 rooms.
The family was trying their best to restore every building to their original state, to respect structures, and designs. After many years of hard work, the beautiful complex was born. It reflects the traditions of Swabian architecture (large, decorative walls facing the street front, and an inner yard with columns). The interior is modern with all amenities for a comfortable stay (with special equipment for infants and small kids, and pets).
Héhl Cellar is only a few meters from the famous Villány “cellar row”, and beautiful nature. Clean countryside air, incredible hospitality – the key to an amazing holiday!
